Sygneus is delighted to announce that its Founder and Director, Jack Ryan, has been named Young Business Person of the Year at the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards 2026.

Sponsored by Pave Aways, the award recognises entrepreneurial achievement, business growth, leadership, personal development, and contribution to the regional business community.

The award comes just over a year after the launch of Sygneus, a specialist consultancy focused on helping innovative deep-tech companies navigate complex markets and bring advanced technologies into operational use across defence, security, nuclear, and other critical sectors.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Jack said:

“I am incredibly proud to receive this award. While it is a personal recognition, it is also recognition of the fantastic organisations that Sygneus has had the privilege of supporting over the past year. There is an enormous amount of technical excellence within the UK’s deep-tech community, and our mission is to help ensure that the best technologies reach the hands of end users where they can make a real difference.”

Since its formation, Sygneus has supported organisations developing advanced capabilities across robotics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, sensing, laser systems, communications, and other emerging technologies. Through a combination of strategic business development, market engagement, bid support, and technical consultancy, the company has helped clients secure funding, access new markets, and accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies.

Sygneus would like to thank the judges, Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, and category sponsor Pave Aways for recognising the progress made during the company’s first year of operation.

Congratulations are also extended to the other finalists in the category:

Emilie Kerr, Lingen Davies Cancer Support
Cian Iddison, Dyke Yaxley Chartered Accountants
Dan Sherratt, R1 Construction

The company also wishes to thank its clients, partners, suppliers, and supporters whose trust and collaboration have played a key role in Sygneus’ growth to date.

As Sygneus enters its second year, the focus remains unchanged: identifying outstanding technical innovation, uncovering hidden capability, and helping great technology achieve real-world impact.
