Robotics

Sygneus works with organisations developing and deploying advanced robotic platforms across defence, nuclear, and industrial environments – ensuring systems are not only technically robust, but deployable, supportable, and aligned to real-world constraints.

Engineering-led robotic systems, deployed where it matters.

Our focus spans uncrewed ground, aerial, and multi-robot systems, with particular expertise in command and control, autonomy integration, and human-robot interaction. We operate at the interface between engineering and adoption – enabling robotic capability to be fielded effectively in environments where reliability, safety, and performance are non-negotiable.

We support the full transition from prototype to operational capability: structuring commercial functions, developing pipelines, shaping bids, and ensuring systems are credibly positioned within complex procurement and regulatory environments. Our work is grounded in genuine technical understanding – informed by direct programme experience across defence, nuclear, and critical infrastructure.

Sygneus partners with the world’s most capable robotics innovators – representing a complementary spectrum of scale, application, and operating environment.

Robotic access for critical assets

Nexxis develops specialist robotic inspection systems for the places people should not, cannot, or need not enter. Their tank and vessel inspection robots combine magnetic crawling, high-definition visual inspection, LED illumination, 360° camera articulation, and customisable NDT payloads to support safer, faster, and more reliable inspection of complex industrial assets. Alongside their product range, Nexxis also develops bespoke robotic systems for difficult access challenges where standard platforms are not enough.

Sygneus supports Nexxis as a UK commercial and strategic partner, strengthening market access across nuclear, defence, energy, utilities, and other high-consequence sectors.

Built to go where others can't

Digital Concepts Engineering is a UK sovereign provider of robotic control systems and uncrewed ground vehicles, built around a clear mission: keeping people out of harm’s way. Their X-Series UGVs and flagship Marionette Control System enable teleoperation and autonomy across virtually any land platform — bridging legacy systems and next-generation autonomous capability across defence, nuclear, and critical infrastructure. Sygneus supports DCE as an embedded commercial partner, having helped secure £1.5M+ in contracts and establish a £2M+ qualified commercial pipeline.

Small systems. Extreme access.

ICE9 Robotics designs and deploys small, highly specialised robotic systems for inspection, survey, and intervention in constrained and hazardous environments — from sub-50 kg tracked platforms to gram-scale devices. Operating across nuclear decommissioning, energy, oil & gas, and utilities, their systems improve safety, data reliability, and operational efficiency by removing personnel from harm. Sygneus supports ICE9 as a commercial and strategic partner, strengthening their market positioning and access across defence, nuclear, and adjacent sectors.
